char.gy joins Bonnet
Char.gy, the public charge point provider based in London, has joined Bonnet as a new charging network partner. Char.gy is now the sixth partner network to officially go live on the Bonnet app.
Char.gy is a network that specialises in lamppost electric vehicle charging. The company manufactures and installs compact charging points that integrate seamlessly into already-existent lampposts on city streets. Char.gy’s model reduces both the costs and the installation time of charging points, which has allowed them to become one of the largest charging networks in the UK today.
The new chargers, mostly concentrated in London and Coventry, now offer even greater coverage for Bonnet’s users.
Bonnet was launched with the aim of making charging more accessible for drivers without off-street parking. This partnership further strengthens Bonnet’s proposition in the capital, where 40% of potential EV owners do not have the luxury of having a home charger. Bonnet’s main product - its app - allows users to access multiple (very soon - all) charging networks with a simple monthly subscription. The addition of char.gy's network to the platform is a major step in scaling the offering and improving the range anxiety that remains a concern for EV drivers today.
Tim Higgins, Business Development Lead at char.gy commented:
“We are excited to be working with Bonnet. This is another positive step in removing barriers to enable electric vehicle adoption for the general public in the UK. We are looking forward to seeing Bonnet grow further”
Patrick Reich, co-founder & CEO at Bonnet commented:
“Char.gy is one of the coolest companies in the EV space and we are really happy to be working with them. Both of our teams strive to make public charging more ubiquitous and accessible to those without the ability to charge at home, so this is a big step in the right direction”.
